I like my 2013 Crazyfly Takii 6'0

Len Kilfoyle - 3/14/2014

I was not sure what I was getting.
The board is very, very solid so a little to the heavier side for a directional kiteboard. Just heavier enough that when hiking into the my favorite spot my arm feels the difference.
The board is wider than most 6' directional surfboards, 19 1/2". I weigh 188 pounds, so for me the width adds glide and stability I like in the turns. When I am riding the board it feels like my feet are balanced & stable. It really carves toe side and heel side well. The board being heavier and built as solid as it is, feels real smooth through small to mid-size chop. I can't speak to bigger Maui type chop. I might want a narrower board, but I would lose the glide in my turns.
It seems a little flatter in the middle rocker than other directional surfboards. The narrow, pointed nose kicks up as wells the tail, but the middle of the board seems flat so I can really drive up wind. Personal preference, I like that.
I do not consider myself a surf shredder by any means. For me, driving up wind, toe and heel side carving are in my comfort zone. I am not ripping fins loose off the lip or doing aerials like Ian or Patrick so this board fits my needs very well. Not to say one could not shred waves, I just can't speak to that with my limitations.
I keep the board in a board bag when in my vehicle as I do with all my boards.
